Wine starting temp 57.5F. Color is very bright, med ruby red, uniform, color to the rim, semi-opaque-. This Pinot has a nose of cherries, raspberry, red flowers, spice (cloves esp.), earth, dark strawberries and toast. Dry, with nice fruitiness with very nice acidity, med+ for the varietal and quite impressive in that regard. Medium body, has some richness and a solid structure, but holds a decent amount of Pinot elegance. Has a hint alcoholic heat on it along with the body and ripeness. Has a very nice oak touch, with subtle toasty, spicy, and smoky aromas and flavors. Light+/Med- tannins are a little light frankly, although they strangely don’t detract from the wine in a holistic sense. They’re smooth and very ripe, and I would guess the fruit was quite ripe as well. Has beautiful primary fruit on the palate with red cherries & raspberries, then nice spicy notes with some smoke and earthiness on the finish. This Oregon Pinot gets a little baker’s chocolate on the finish too, while holding on to just a touch of earthy/leathery taste. End temp 61.1F. We love the way this evolves in the glass. It’s very smooth, with a nice balance of acidity, structure, fruit, and delicacy. Good depth and balance.
