Simple, straightforward, but in a good way. Slightly smoky note along with good merlot fruit. Drinking well after 10 years, although I wouldn't wait much longer.

Good balance of heavily oaked, fruity CA cabernet with stainless steel fermentation and limestone soil: decent fruit, good structure (there is some cabernet franc in the blend), some toast (more on the nose than in the mouth), nice finish. The fruit-forward nature has been reduced somewhat with age. Still drinking well with a good backbone.

Even, predictable, round. Oaky, good dark fruit, not a whole lot going on. Certainly not as juicy as a more recent release.
