  • 2016 Château Lescalle

Beautifully made wine. Not too ambitious though. Classic French wine. No frills.
The nose is rich in fruit but also complexity. Some flowers, herbs, distant leather.
Taste: stil fresh taste. Light fruit, sour raspberries. Acidity is great. Spices top ot off. Not a really story, or very complex, but nicely balanced.

Ready to drink nog reason to wait.

A great wine with great spices!
This is the first bottle I've opened, so this is the benchmark for further development.

    Nose: warm, dark red fruit.
Taste: a complex wine with a variety of tones that pass the program. Dark red fruit commences it all. Current, berries, raspberry. Than quite directly acidity kicks in, I a nice way, towards soury licorice, leather maybe. Spices are abundant and keep on going.
A great acidity overall. Soft tannines.

This wine is good to go. I'm not expecting enormous development since tannines already seem to be soft, but let's see. The sine should be good at least another 6 years. Next year another bottle! If I can withhold myself.

  • 2017 Domaine des Jougla Saint-Chinian Initiale

Nose: less explicit than three years ago. Dark Red fruit and heavier earthy smell.
Taste: leather, berries, milk chocolate, herbs, great complexity. Beautiful taninnes. Subtile blend.
I love this wine. It develops nicely through the years. And with that in mind it great value for money
