Real name: Hipster Enology Locale: Los Angeles, California, USA Favorite region: The WORLD! (And anywhere with Double Rainbows!) Dream wine: Our own
We are Hipster Enology, hear us pour!
Baking spice, cranberry sauce, and blackberry in the nose. Tastes of Cassis syrup and boysenberry jam. This is a good Hot wine at 15.5% alc. but the intense fruit masks it nicely and pairs extremely well with spicy foods. Our friends at Michael-David do rich, inky, dark fruit flavored wines very well and we are intensely appreciative of them for it!

This wine is made by an acquaintance of ours Shawna Rosenblum, who's wines we've very much enjoyed in the past. The 2010 Jesse's Vineyard Zin was no different. It was extremely approachable, in the grandmothers blackberry cobbler sort of way! It has a nose of musty cherries and raspberry licorice. It's obviously full bodied and coats your mouth soothingly with a slight caramel flavor on the front palate as well as juicy dark fruits. We found this wine paired very nicely with spicy sausages and tomato sauce. Definitely a good bang for your buck at around $18.

This wine was a bit over extracted for my tastes but it did have a very nice floral and ripe cherry nose, with spice and red currant as well. I found light baking spice, ripe red berries and lots of white pepper in the mouthfeel. All in all this wine is not worth the $40 retail
