  • 2005 Adrian Fog Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard

On seldom occasion, a deep connection to something or someone is both undeniable and dangerously irresistible. An aroma, touch, or taste of a muse can be so compelling that reason gives way to desire. A molten rouge hue radiates like pouty lips parting in passionate fervor. Her perfume tempts a core of raspberries wrapped in vine picked strawberry, dew moistened rose petal, fresh cinnamon, and sweet cola. The sensation of her on my tongue is to melt in the intensity of my own wanton fascination. Caressing black cherry and dark red currents beg at the palate with a promiscuous acidity. Complexity abound, notes of spearmint and fire roasted vanilla bean writhe with a kiss of blueberry and wild iris. Every curve is deliberate, unique, and beautiful… All I want is more…

  • 2005 Brewer-Clifton Pinot Noir Rio Vista

For a wine that boasts a 15.5% alcohol concentration, this wine is a masterpiece in balance and craftsmanship. Bright ruby unfolds layers of fleshy Pinot Noir that breathes incredible complexity of dried cherries, baking spices, crushed rock and dusty minerals, sulfur and pungent rose petal. The palate gives even more with intense ripened raspberries, white sage and fresh cinnamon. Broad creamy texture lends an impressive tactile experience that finishes with deep toasted mineral and mandarin orange peel. Balance and intensity is truly the highlight of this wine.

  • 2003 Montes Syrah Folly La Finca de Apalta

Like storm clouds gathering strength on a dark horizon or an active volcano rumbling and aching to explode this brooding Syrah oozes intensity. Macerated blackberries, tar, charred meats, and anise permeate from a fleshy creamed black opal liquid. Assertive flavors envelope the palate with a core of tightly wound dark fruits, fried plum skins laced with edge of blueberry. Deeply concentrated wet violet petals, melted Belgian dark chocolate, white pepper, crushed espresso grind, and roasted vanilla bean add to an impressive complexity to this still sleeping giant. Folly finishes with a still palpable complexity and ultra fine tannin.
