  • 2015 De Angelis Wines Chardonnay Paso Robles Willow Creek District

Dry, balanced and layered. The months of battonage has produced a creaminess that is unusual in a Chardonnay This wine is crisp slightly acidic and a perfect wine for sipping or enjoying with a great meal

  • 2010 De Angelis Wines Sauvignon Blanc

This wine is made from fruit sourced on both the West and East sides of Paso Robles, California. The West Side fruit (33% of the blend) is grown at high elevations and is thus the “cool weather” fruit in the blend. The fruit purchased from the East side of Paso Robles is is "warm weather" fruit, and is grown in an area where the days are hot and the nights warm. This combination of warm and cool weather fruit allows us to balance the acidity and tannins in this wine. Typically cool weather fruit is more acidic than warm weather fruit. Thus, by blending we are able to balance the acidity to attain its complex and balanced finish.

This wine was fermented in an anaerobic atmosphere. The absence of oxygen during both fermentation and battonage (5 months stirring on the lees) adds a complexity that is difficult to obtain with Sauvignon Blanc, especially when it is exposed to oxygen during processing. This wine exhibits a floral nose, and a mineral quality on the tongue, and in the finish. When served at proper temperatures (50-55° F) floral overtones are prevalent. Its acidity and its flavor profile make it a great food friendly wine.

This wine is cold stabilized, but we suggest that the wine not be chilled to common refrigerator temperatures.

  • 2009 De Angelis Wines Viognier

Fruit for our Viognier comes from an area near the Sacramento Delta. This was a new wine area that we have heard little about. It was and is an amazing find. The grapes were harvested in September of 2009. Characteristics of this Viognier include apricot, peach and other stone fruit flavors. It is dry and pleasantly spicy in the finish. The alcohol is 13.5%, and the wine is perfectly balanced This wine, while fruity is absolutely dry. This Viognier was aged in Hungarian oak (60%) and the rest in stainless steel. The wine in stainless was stirred on the lees for approximately 4 months to increase its creamy aspects. If a few words could describe the 2009 Viognier, they would be "Crisp, Balanced and Fruity", with a very nice long finish. This iwine is great for sipping or as an accompaniment to any fish or fowl dish. Cheeses are easily paired with this wine, and we often do just this!
