I love this wine. I drank my fourth and final from my cellier this evening. Granted I was alternating between my cigar and my favourite rigatoni, it was universal enough to be pleasant with everything I complemented it with. Likely better with carnivorous fare, but a delight nonetheless. Easy on the nose, but bold in taste.

Wholeheartedly agree with the previous comment. Needs decanting. We taste tested a before and after. Quite a marked difference. Takes it from an 87 to a 91. Had with orecchiette pasta. The mellow tannins and earthy undertones blended well. Can use another couple years. Will do that for my last bottle.

After reading all the other notes below, I double decanted and let sit for 4 hours prior to dinner. Success!! This was a delight to drink. Soft on the pallet and still maintained its deep ruby colour. I wouldn't leave cellared bottles for too much longer though.
