What a great nose i must say for under 20$ just wow! Nose had a strong touch of caramelized fruit with a hint of smoke the color was nice ruby red with a hint of bronze. Thetaste was typical zin had a great deep fruit and smoke with a slight taste of pepper and earth great balance. The Body was nice and beefy a lot of backbone typical to a good Zin! The finish was medium to long with perfect balance of tannins ....great zin all around for under 20$ would justify to nit pick at all the flaw wouldnt be fair this is one of the best wines for its value!

  • 2004 Elsbree Family Vineyards Pinot Noir

Upon opening had the first glass i needed to decant this wine for a bit needed a lot of air to open up. Once a good 30 - 40min past the wine opened up very nicely night and day from when the bottle was initially opened. The Color was vibrant ruby red with a nose of Fresh Fruit and cooked butter and cinnamon. It had jammy flavor which wasn't too strong with a nice hint of earth in the back ground ( wild berries, vanilla, and caramel). The body was quite light but developed nicely in time but still a medium to light body even though the body was light the finish was quite nice long lasting which was a surprise i tend to have short finishes with my pinot when the body is this light. Overall a nice bottle of wine giving it some time to decant of course. I didn't see this wine on here at all for review so I'm sure its not that common so i kept the cork it had the number of the vineyard so if anyone is interested here it is Elsbree Family Vineyards (707)217-4082

  • 2006 Chalone Vineyard Pinot Noir Monterey County

Not bad for the price great nose very floral and fresh fruit nice light ruby red color, the taste complimented on the fresh fruit mainly of wild strawberries more of a tart sweetness, body was medium to light with a light finish. Could been longer in the finish and more exciting overall kind of boring, but not bad for under 20$.
