It is a nice wine in its tasting window now. Not sure cellaring will add much to its profile. Fine tannins with sour cherry and raspberry notes on the initial taste along with some vanilla. Short finish on the palate. Maybe wouldn’t hold up to a big steak, but was fine with a charcuterie board. Not so sure about the price point. For me, there are better wines out there in the $73-$75 price range. To be fair, I poured a $125 Howell mountain cab and a $300 Cayuse Bionic Frog just to educate my tasters about well-structured wines built for aging vs. wines that are better drunk young. No snobby-ness, just teaching moments.

This sweet wine falls far from a Sauternes or Tokay but comes closer to an Inniskillen or even a Dolce. The producer says the outcome is a wine with floral, and mineral aromas. (Agreed) On the palette it exhibits citrus fruits, a wonderful salinity, and great length. (Agreed, though I don't agree with the great length.) It is definitely age worthy. The winemaker recommends decanting it, but I'd say just serve it very, very cold and let it come up to temperature and you will be very satisfied.

I disagree with the disparaging reviews of others here. Yes, it has a sweet note to it, but who doesn’t like molasses, raisin, graham cracker, and even ripe pear? This is an awesome whiskey on the rocks and paired with a medium strength cigar. Straight? Not so great. Too much ice? Loses some nuance. One singular round or square cube and a 45-minute cigar? Sublime.
