I like this Chardonnay. It's in the Santa Barbara style, well balanced. I'd compare it to Au Bon Climat. You will not be hit over the head with oak, butter, or lemon. Instead they'll be handed to you in a pleasant fashion.

This actually managed to be meatier than lamb osso bucco. Dark fruit, really smoky and chewy. It's like the friend who keeps changing the conversation to serious topics. Distractingly heavy.

So far, it has paired beautifully with bolognese sauce, chicken livers scented with lemon and truffle oil, and 60-hour tsukemen, and I'm starting to wonder if there's anything it can't do. Off dry with pleasant dark fruit and a little spice. If you like Zinfandel--do.
