Exceptionally well balanced Chardonnay, still presenting good fruit with apple and toast notes. The oak is there giving it roundness and a richness but restrained and well integrated. It took some time to open but is showing well 2+ hours after opening. 8 years in and it still has room to run. I have 2 more bottles but clearly I should have bought more.

Me:Toast and butterscotch on the nose gave me hope but pure grapefruit and lemongrass on the palate, neither of which is a flavor I enjoy. My wife: Foxy, both the wine and her of course. Just not our wine.

Garnet in color. Medium plus to high acidity with a nice but soft tannin grip to the finish. Notes of cocoa on the nose that carry through the mid palate. Alcohol is present but, unlike so many Zinfandels, it’s integrated and not “hot.” I am not usually a Zinfandel fan but this has an old world Primitivo quality and a balance that is exceptional. I’ve always thought that Washington is a great pace to grow and make wines from Italian varietals. However, Greg confirms that and goes well beyond. This is an exceptional wine.
