Our first Cloudy Bay. Not worth the price. Nice fruity nose somewhat let down by all too apparent smells of yeast. The 2005 Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Le MD de Bourgeois - Chavignon was a much better buy in the same price range.

Rich Chablis "mineral" style. Very nice at first, but became almost a bit too much when the meal was finished. Good with food, but perhaps too "heavy" on the minarals for aperitif use. Or perhaps we just perfer a lighter, fresher and more "fruity" style? Still, a very good Chablis.

Lively and vibrant aromas of blackcurrant leaves and fruits etc. (for lack of a more accurate description) that I find typical of a very good Sancerre. Full-bodied with nice acidity to balance. Powerful for a Sancerre (in a good way) but yet elegant, and without the overpowering "compact" and almost sweet style of the new world Sauvignon Blancs. One of the more expensive whites we have ever purchased, but worth the price and more. Probably the best Sancerre we have had so far. I thought buying four was extravagant, but I should probably have bought more. :-)
