Wow, don't trust the user's window dates, as this is drinking at its height now and probably has some years of further development before going downhill. Was great at the pop of the cork, now on second day it is showing cassis, cherry, even a little bright ripe strawberry. It has a brightness, yet a solid umami meatiness that would go well with a braised meat dish. Dauzac is one of those under the radar values that (in the right vintage, of which 2005 obviously was one) gives wines at 5x the price a run for their money.

Another reason to pay no attention to community drinking windows on this site. Twice tasted from Coravin, from earlier in the week, consistent observation of fabulousness. I can't believe this would have been better in 2018. Abundant aromas of Cote-Rotie-like smoked meats and violet. Vibrant syrah flavor bursts across the tongue with savory asian incense, meaty notes, still perfect acid, balanced and integrated tannin, and a finish that rewards for a good 2 minutes. If you still have this, drink now for the enjoyment of it being at it's peak, but you could hold it if you are bold enough to see what it's secondary element will reveal. A stunning Central Coast effort that reminds me of Alban's Reva line.

Wow, this is right in my sweet spot of a wine that makes me do a Snoopy, with feet gyrating and a smile to the sky. This was a bottle I had to buy, upon visiting them for the first time , and having to pack the very substantial glass punted bottle in my suitcase home. But worth it. The nose is cassis like, but upon tasting, the flavor of makaresca cherry is so prominent and unlike any wine Ive tasted before. It's been open a couple of days and still remarkable. At it's peak now, but think it's still got a number of years left to run, reflecting other reviewers comments, in contrast to the CT published window.
