The 2010 Corbiéres was incredibly sweet on first open - nearing the level of a young ruby port - full of ripe blueberry. We thought Way too sweet for a big slab of red meat.
60 minutes later the Corbiéres opened up and the tannins bloomed. Holy cow this bottle changed 180 degrees. Leather, cardamom, prune, and ripe fig on the nose, with maduro tobacco, vanilla, cedar, cinnamon on the palate. Such an *amazing* bottle that we brought back from France from our 2013 road trip. Even better for the fact that we have another in the cellar.

Robust for a Pinot noir. Nose has a bit of astringent, ripe strawberry and raspberry. Tannins are complex, with notes of new oak, pepper, blackberry. Long finish.

Had good promise at start, hints of black pepper, black currant, dark ripe cherry, and clove on the palette. Way past it's prime though as even the single glass didn't hold up after 20min, with the spice almost non existent and the palette turning to a sour cherry with a black licorice nose.
