  • 2000 Chappellet Cabernet Franc

Still a bit youthful, but coming along nicely. In ten to fifteen years it ought to be at it's peak. Color is still purple and almost opaque, nose is fragrant with cabernet franc, plums, pepper, slight blueberry and boysenberry, taste is smoothing out with distinct cabernet franc and blueberry with a taste I can't quite put my finger on; slightly metallic tasting with pronounced mixed berry flavor.

It's coming together but isn't there quite yet. The metallic taste is actually not off putting, but it is curious. I think this is going to be a real treat in a few years. I have one bottle left. I think I will wait ten years to taste it again. I fully expect to be amply rewarded for my wait. These Pritchard Hill Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon take time to age, but they seem to be well worth the time it takes. My old age is going to be filled with good wines worth having kept.

  • 2003 Revana Cabernet Sauvignon

Undistinguished. Peppery, deep cabernet nose, still too young on the palate. Appearence is very young, dark purple. Had it with a filet mignon with lovely dark sauce, but it was not up to the task. Should have waited another few years. My only bottle.
