Smooth and uncomplicated Zin with boysenberry taste. Deep red color. Went great with classic steak dinner (Bearnaise sauce) w sides of blue cheese dressed iceberg wedge salad and mixed buttery mushrooms. Good on the cellaring. 13.5 % alcohol only.

Top half of Cork was dry enough to crumble hopelessly on opening, but the seal was true. Decanted via a sieve but still plenty of cork bits to contend with. Color almost inky after waiting a few minutes but taste was utterly silky smooth. Seemed very alcoholic in its effects, bTW. But taste of the wine was jammy and plum/grape. Another validator of wide opinion that 99 was a superb vintage for N California Cabernets.
