If one could bottle Spain, this would be it. Black cherry and dried fig, paraffin Bellota ham like notes, potting soil, some herbal and jasmine potpourri, old church pew leather and mahogany base tones, distant woodsmoke. Silky tannins, green olive brine minerality, age rounded acidity and a medium to long finish with an element of back palate mystery. Bright and present with good aromatic projection.

Let me start out by saying I enjoyed this wine - it was plush. It had elements of blackberry liquor and cherry tincture but arguably to the point of warmth. I enjoyed the bacon fat, salted licorice and camp fire like smokey oak aromatics - likewise, the unctuous earthy palate, lengthy finish and suave tannins yet the combined effect was borderline new world. Perhaps time will tame this but I was looking for a little more funk and compensatory tapenade like minerality to ground me in the terroir. This wine is sensual and broad shouldered but arguably over ripe. Appreciative with mixed feelings.

Lemon oil and orchard fruit core with pleasing mineral elements and bright acidity. An unexpected pleasure from what must be a gorgeous place!
