TASTE: Not the best vintage of this favorite wine of ours - it just didn't have the definitive coffee / toffee undertones of past vintages. Perhaps more cellaring will bring our the full potential of the carmenere grape.
SMELL: Not a bad smell, a little understated compared to those past vintages - not as crisp, just more muddled of a smell profile. I'll give it a night to breathe and try again tomorrow.

Not a bad wine - medium sweetness on an average riesling. Tight on the nose, and a fairly short finish. We ate with spicy Indian cuisine and the hint of sweetness offset the savory quite nicely, but I think you can also get that from a lot better wines.
