  • 2013 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre

Upon drinking I had the picture how sucks the 2013 vintage is with lots of rots! This wine has more sweetness once you taste it, Gewurztraminer? Felt softer, unlike normal Chablis that has the sharp edges which takes time to mellow and even added more complexity on the palate already . But hands down Raveneau is able to retain the salty minerals and the finish is still dry although acidity is still lower than normal! Good vintage you gonna wait like crazy for it to come around! Imagine this traveled through time machine to ten years later and makes it so enjoyable now! Why wait plus this vintage is still 20% cheaper than recent release and don’t assume you could age this till your grandson graduation!

Nose of sweet stew fruits palate with dried apricots dried raisins licorice and ash . Fine clean juice with moderate intensity and length. Holding up nicely with acidity and fruits!

  • 2008 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut

What can I say about this champagne it is linear travelling in a black hole! No bruise apples and tropical fruits nonsense or oxidative. Sniff it , my favourite toast not over oak deep sweetness from just ripe grapes makes it pure and retaining the abundance acidity of the vintage! Sweetness over intensity while drooling and finishes dry! When I say linear travelling through a black hole ,this is a century champagne! To the point I totally enjoyed it now as it has all the elements I like! If I would like to compare a category of white burgundy I will put this with the approach of Arnaud Ente , Roulot or Coche in this vintage or perhaps I have delusions of grandeur! 95now and 3-5 points more later!
