Medium bodied with a garnet hue. Light and fruity on the palate with a slight sweet touch. Tannins have mellowed as it has a smooth finish.

I feel this wine has come into its own. Opened it at about 62 degrees and let decant for 20 min. Slight floral opening with stone fruit and floral overtones. At this age the tannins had softened and the flavors have melded. I can see where, a few years post vintage, the rating may have been lower but I feel now is the time for this value priced Super Tuscan.

I may not, for example, care for the style of Amarone (though I do) but it is not appropriate for me to mislead other consumers by rating the amarone I am drinking as a “bad wine.” Regardless, I wish you well on your journey, and you’ll find plenty of good wines (by all definitions) exploring Piedmont. Salute’!
