I did not do a very detailed analysis of the wine but what struck me was the superb nose it presented at the opening, very smoky. In the mouth what surprised me is the extremely ashy side that Pinot Noir can present in cold years. I enjoyed it although a little disappointed not to have read any fruit. otherwise, no mouth defect; the tannins are melted, everything glides well in the mouth. Although you would expect something far superior for a grand cru. The wine was not opened in carafe. Would be good to wait il longer… Who knows?

Vin goûté après le Pontet Canet 2003. Le nez est aromatique et agréable typiquement Pessac avec une note de café, grillé bien typé. Le vin est élégant et agréable à boire. Pas nécessairement très long ou puissant mais vraiment plaisant avec des notes de fruit et de tabac. Pour ma part la bouteille était à son optimum. Wine tasted after the Pontet Canet 2003. The nose is aromatic and pleasant, typically Pessac with a hint of coffee, toasted very typical. The wine is elegant and pleasant to drink. Not necessarily very long or powerful, but really pleasant with notes of fruit and tobacco. For my part the bottle was at its optimum.

Dégustation décevante. Nez typiquement Bordeaux mais monolithique avec une note de clou de girofle hyper dominante. Le fruit est écrasé et ça manque cruellement de complexité. On peut parfois se demander si certains vins de Bordeaux sont bien de 1er vin ou un produit contenant plus de vins de presse. Je suis vraiment très dubitatif. Grosse déception.
