Received in trade from original owner about 10 years ago through the Wine School of Philadelphia. Perfect cork. Not decanted but you could if desired. Holding a lot of fruit here in 2018, dark color belies a 16 year maturity. Dark fruit, tobacco, deep forest. Quite delicious on the attack. A little heat in the transition to the finish and good length. Quite enjoyable and not showing much age but a touch hotter than the 14.4% label indicates. Very nice.

Purchased on release and held until tonight. Rusty and brick, a bit agitated as it was consumed after travel. But perfect maturity. Aromas of porcini, warm earthy compost, and leather. Warm and inviting, the wine pushes you to enjoy and not intellectualize too long lest you miss the Grenache dominant wine show its depth mid palate is rich and the finish both rising and long. Wine is in a good place now, could take time in carafe or in your cellar but it’s ready to enjoy. It will empty quickly too. Wonderful CdP.

Valentines day bottle. Purchased on release, held til tonight. Perfect cork. Decanted two hours, and you can certainly call the 2004 vintage, still on a very deliberate rise, lots of primary flavors -- red fruit, tobacco, cedar, spice, and tart plum. Very quaffable after another hour, it is intense, medium full. A touch green on the long finish. Will take until 2018 until any secondary maturity appears. Nice wine!
