Successive and integrated layers of sour cherry cola, ripe oranges, raw meat, and pinewood, with a mellow peppermint note riding the wood. Reminds me of a dish of succulent mandarin orange beef. A gorgeous finish.

*** Perhaps the most "New Zealand" of any Napa sauvignon, citrus and steel on the palate. I think this will mellow out with a year in bottle and bring out a honeyed complexity to it.

**** I found this wine completely pleasing. This bottle purchased in Tuscany on release and stored in my cellar since. Medium-full body, deep color, with tar and dried fruit scents; punchy acidity and a tart finish. It toned down after being open a couple hours.
