This wine is a delight. Honeydew melon, apricot, and cured lime rind on the pallet. Viscosity is right in line with what comes to mind with a solid Riesling. We enjoyed this with a spicy chicken stir fry and were so happy with how delicately the wine danced with the food.

I am so incredibly disappointed with this wine. The wine offers very little on the nose and can only be described as juice on the pallet. I so very much wanted to enjoy this California Chenin, but am now angry that I bought 4 bottles out of complete lack of judgement on my part. What angers me most about this wine is that the wine maker had to make a conscious decision to bottle this product. I appreciate Motley’s attempt at making a go as a wine maker, but unfortunately have to say this is one of the worst wines I have tasted in recent memory.

Seems like 1999 was not the best year. This took about 2 hours to open up in the decanter. Shoe leather, dried orange peel, and a bit of chocolate on the palate. Even though this is a 1999 it seemed to have an older nose than the 1993 I also tasted.
