What is this holy liquid?? While researching the Tuscans from San Giusto, I came across tales of this wonder. "D'yquem of Italy" is more than appropriate. It's a wonderous dessert wine. Coats your mouth in with a syrup thinkness that instantly evaporates into lightness. It's hard to pin down the notes outside of hazelnut and coffee, and this was enjoyed by non coffee drinkers as well. Some preferred it more chilled. I thought it was great at 50°.

Excellent bottle and outstanding qpr. I'm not a fan of the overt citrus in California Sav Blanc. Mike Smith did a brilliant job cutting it with 70% Sémillon. The nose gives off that deepness I associate with a high class white bordeaux. It is distinctively Napa though. This wine really should be drunk closer to 55-60°. When served at first the pallette was muted and thin. As it warmed up the flavors released beautifully.

Outstanding wine with a big caveat. I opened this bottle the night before a dinner to slow ox and it was very tight. Left it open the whole night, corked it up the next morning and decanted when we got to the restaurant. By the time we got to it, it was singing. All that you would want from a big time bordeaux. Beautiful nose, evolving notes from cigar to pencil. Very well enjoyed by the table.

The Vina Tondonia 2009 you just tasted, has just been released a year ago and is known for its longevity, so my guess would be some bottle variation.
The ones I have tasted recently were far from the top (And I generally prefer my wine pretty young)
