Tasted at Mia Carte in downtown Napa. Fabulous tasting room if you’re in town. This wine was seamless and jumped out of the glass with dark fruit aromas and floral top notes. From high hillside My Veeder grapes, this is a blend of two clones; one luscious and sexy and one known to be more tannic. This blend gives the wine a soft approach in its youth but also seems to have plenty to go on for the long haul. I might not be able to resist drinking it all now though. This wine makes you come back for more and seems to evolve in the glass with each sip.

Simply perfect. So complex, refined, elegant, balanced. Nice citrus balanced with toasty brioche and must. This wine is gorgeous and I’ll continue to remind myself that one bottle is never enough!
Another PM wine that’s out of balance and loaded with alcohol. Fruit has recessed a lot since the last bottle I opened. Drank this on NYE with some A5 Japanese wagyu fillet. The wine was tannic and peppery with some oak. Secondary notes coming through ever so slightly, but the wine seemed angular and out of harmony. Sips weren’t that enjoyable and the finish was medium and very dry. We closed it and finished dinner with water. Day of opening - 85 rating. DAY 2 - came around a lot. Softer, sweeter, and far less alcohol on the nose and palate. Complexity isn’t there though. I think unfortunately more time is needed here. I’ve stopped purchasing from PM because the quality isn’t there for the money (they tend to spend exorbitant amounts on marketing materials and books rather than make good wine now) and you can find bottles on wine searcher for far less than direct purchase price. My dollars have shifted to Realm for CA cabs.
