Gorgeous floral nose with bright red fruit. I was surprised by how expansive the nose was at this stage. Palate is still tight but had wonderful red fruits. The only thing holding this back was a massively tannic finish that needs time to settle down. I expect this to be stunning in about 10 years once the tannins mellow.

This was at or just past it's peak. The fruit was starting to fade but there was just enough still present to balance out the high acid. Really nice sous bois and earth aromas dominating the palate with a firm acid backbone. Long finish for a wine of this level.

Had this with a great meal at La Nonna in Vail. A tannic dark cherry oak bomb at this stage. I really enjoy this wine with some age on it but this is not a pleasurable experience at this stage. The 2010 I had in 2020 was superb but still young so maybe 10-15 years is the sweet spot for the Marcenasco.
