Honeysuckle, lemon zest, flower petals and lots of acid - almost mouth drying on the way out. A nice rose petal finish with layers of citrus. The mineral elements are strong but not overwhelming in any regard and I get little buttery substance - the wine is rich but in a refreshing sense, not a flabby one. Very balanced wine with a lot of substance. I don't drink a lot of Chardonnays but this compels me to do so. Tremendous wine, impression making. Big fan...

Translucent, medium ruby red color - nose expresses powdery notes with more spice components then expected, some herbal elements and dusty/dried red fruits. The nose leaves me wondering about the amount of stem inclusion. In the mouth, the wine doesn't initially display any of the plush characteristics of Anderson Valley and this vineyard. Instead, a more mineral laden wine with only a slight nuance of the what I've experienced as 'typical' of this vineyard. A nice surprise and definitely a bit of a curveball. More polished and retrained then opulent and velvety. 14.3% alcohol, but it hides it well. Leave it alone for a bit longer or enjoy its youth.

Drinking very nicely right now. Great MacPhail character and a great expression of the Sonoma Coast fruit. Much better then a bottle consumed 12-14 months ago. Seems more full bodied now versus the previous bottles - rounding out nicely.
