Takes a long time to open up. Nose is fully on with dead leaves, bramble and earth. Palate has elevated tannins, although the acidity to back up the underlying - emphasis on underlying - fruit took until the second day to really come around. There is some VA, but overall the winemaker didn't indulge with too much new oak, and oak influences in general aren't easily detectable in this bottle.

Pale garnet colour with not much hint of aging. Nose is initially very closes, would recommend decanting to let it open up (which I did not do). Eventually shows very ripe and pure red and black cherry on the nose. A bit of liquorice too. Palate has high tannin, medium-high acidity. Earthy, slightly steamy, herbaceous and mostly red fruit although it's hard to pin down specifics. Overall a good wine which is drinking well now and should do for the next 6-10 years.

Lots of red fruit on the nose. Earthiness, spice (star anise), a little bit of liquorice to follow. High tannin, high acidity but well balanced. Drinking well now and should be in its prime for the next 4-5 years.
