Well in the grand scheme of things - verging on being a 3 year old, 2017 Pinot Noir from France - this wine is now just starting to lose some of it's previous green and intensely fruity youth. Things are just beggining to open up deliciously, with hints of far more to come. It looks decidedly pale garnet, almost a pink, but it's most definitely watery red in the glass.. The aroma, though still tight, is predominantly floral, with ripe strawberry and faint raspberry red fruits. The florality is superbly striking, conjuring dried rose petals with perhaps just a little geranium muskiness too.. The taste is quite superbly familiar. The wine tastes and feels how quality young, fruit driven, village red Burgundies from great vintages should. The tones of soft, ripe, red fruit and typical gentle tannins are quite delicious... again the by now familiar florality with mouthfuls of rose and petal flavours are simply superb. Wait for this one to develop if you can resist it now.. Cheers!

In the context, now that sparking red Burgundy is so hard to come across and the preconceived idea that there are no good Lambruscos, if you "think" you know Lambrusco, try a Lambrusco "Grasparossa" from Castelvetro and think again. Full of moussy bubbles, red fruit, soft enjoyable tannins and only pleasantly dry enough to make it all hang together... delicious. Apart from the lovely label, it's not the best one I have ever tasted, but none the less, very worthy of an excellent.

Fairly dark coloured, delicious and light gamay. Bramble apple and cherry pie nose which follows on into the taste.
