This took nearly three days to open up, but it was understated and damn pretty once it did. Good deal of brett and smoked meat on day 1, with the fruit hiding underneath it. On day 2 and 3, the brett mostly blew off, revealing sweet cherry, plum, and prune. Fresh mint and red roses, savory dried herbs, red licorice, white pepper.
Full and silky palate. Tasting older than it is.

Reminded me how satisfying Italian wine can be. Black cherry, sour blueberry, leather, and dried herbs (almost Cotes du Rhone on the nose). Ripe fruit and plenty of alcohol, kept in check with striking acid. Balance, simplicity, and great quality for price.

Good god this is great Riesling. Deep lemon yellow and on its way to gold. Complex nose -- jasmine, green tea, honeysuckle, poached green apple and pear, peanut shell and walnut skin, white peach, petrol, just ripe pineapple, candied lemon, candied ginger. I can't say enough about how perfectly in balance this wine is. Dry dry dry and rich (but not overly so). Moving to Germany ttyl.
