Nose: Dark berry fruit leather, earthy notes, smoke, red licorice, bing cherry reduction, meaty duck breast notes. Secondary hints of coffee and white pepper. All in all a fascinating and enjoyable nose.
Taste: Tart attack followed by red berry, saddle leather, hints of red plum, truffles, black licorice, and truffles. Toasted coffee oak notes to finish.
Overall: Solid specimen for a CdP. Complex and enjoyable. Texture was silky, with some tannin remaining. I would say drink up soon, as this seems near to peak for my tastes. It will certainly last another 2 to 3 years though.

Nose: butter, lime, cream, solid minerality, with a hint of peach and loquat.
Taste: Tangerine, lime, limestone, tart and pleasant acidity, with oceanic notes, sea shells and nice brineyness.
Other: Smooth structure, but a tad tart for a great balance. For food pairings, steer to something you would add lemon too, such as shellfish, whitefish, without a sweet sauce.

Nose: cedar, black olive, ripe plum, black berry, Bing cherry. Compelling and interesting.
Taste: stewed blackberry jam, with black olives. Should be gross, but works in wine form. Figtastic as well. Cassis in pretentious glory.
92pts.
