Well a lot of reviews put it past its prime and I have a couple left. So I broke into another after a long week away from home. It still seemed pretty concentrated, ripe fruit and jammy (baked Morrel cherries?). Oak was still a bit spicy. The finish seems a bit short however. I will enjoy the last 3 this year.

Jammy blackberry with lots of fruit up front. Moderate to long finish with great sweet cedar and smooth tannins. Only 1 bottle left of the case we bought 9 years ago. Some say 2016 is the limit. I'd think it would good for a few more. Still deal and inky. Can't see through it in sunlight. Heavy garnet rim. No sediment when poured. Awesome bottle today with grilled steaks looking out across the Wasatch from the deck.

This 09 has been sitting in the cellar for 10 years. Light and a quick quaff. Probably too long in the bottle as the finish is quick and there is a lingering graphite/pencil on the back of the palate. Overall it's good with dinner tonight. It's a nice drink but it was our first efforts into burgundy, the others a bust - this is the last of all we bought of various appellations. Maybe I shall try again.
