Cassis and vanilla on nose. Heavy black fruit turning to pronounced blackberry. Not very complex. Softer style wine like Paul Hobbs without the intensity.

Served at 55 degree with no decant. What a pleasant, balanced wine and drinking well. Light strawberry, tea and floral notes on nose with no funk. Minerality comes out on first taste along with strawberry and raspberry. Enough tannin and acidity to dry out mouth and want another sip. Jolt of fruit on the finish. In terms of Gevrey Chambertin, certainly a more modern style and on lighter side but a thoroughly enjoyable glass of Pinot. A good crossover wine from new to old world. Think I’ll have another glass.
BTW, compared new and old world Reidel Pinot glasses and new world highlights fruit and old terroir. I think I’d flip the roles and drink burgundy in the new style Pinot glasses and west coast Pinots in older style glasses.

Lighter style with more fruit than expected. After an hour, gains some mid-palate. Reminds me of a mid tier Willamette Pinot.
