  • 2007 Jardim do Bomfim Shiraz

Much like a brand new pair of imported running shoes, this wine is as impressive as a defloralised and untrodden nimbus. Light on the nose, light on the buds, with a light an easy finish as though the pepper shaker was nearly empty....plenty of alcohol so use sparingly on 5ft nothing blondes or they'll be snoozing not crusing...the backside label is made for horizontal positioning; so enjoy & quaff with a toff.

  • 2007 Ruffino Chianti

Like a skinny Tuscan belladonna, restrain with bolts and handcuffs, or this one may just blow away. The woody aromas of Firenze's pizza ovens can be sensed on the nose, like all good things from Italy patience is the key. Unfortunately the belladonna's slightly uncurtailed underarms dropped the odd insincerity into each bottle blending with an otherwise salivous Sangiovese. Perfect for those warm summer afternoons when the maid is in and the wife is out.

  • 2005 Boggy Creek Vineyards Barbera

If you wish to impress a young lady and you are an amorous gentleman then this is the wine for you. From the famed King Valley at the foothills to the Victorian High Country in Australia, there is nothing better than a few bottles of this Barbera to make any young lady look fine. At 14% you would expect the alcohol to be overpowering, the truth however is that this full-bodied Italian varietal provides a distinct rich black cherry character that will leave you gasping for the next voluptuous young thing that comes your way.
