From magnum. Rich, smooth, cherry and dark fruit. Good earthiness and long finish. Not ultra complex but good. Respect to Musar for making a wine with this longevity.

Pristine bottle despite a 7 hour flight ahead of a dinner where the wine showed really well. Ruby red color, dark red berries, cherries and plums, some gaminess and spices. Very well structured, superb balance like an evolved Burgundy grand cru, finishes long with sweet tannins. Delicious and one of the best Musars I have had alongside the 1960 and 1977.

BBQ late Jun 2023: cork crumbled upon opening, wine filtrated into a carafe; dark purple tawny color; unluckily the wine showed defective aromas in the nose and defective flavors on the palate; tasted again 5 and further 24 hours after opening: no improvement.

Well kept Musar for a post birthday treat. Tannins have been polished down leaving elegance and silk to the texture. Leather and animalistic aromas on the top with red ripe berries and raisins underneath. It follows a great feeling of respect to the winemakers when contemplating the fact that this wine was made during tough conditions under the civil war.
