There was discussion about corkiness, which I didn't detect and ultimately the hypothesis was rejected, but it did not show as well as a previous excellent bottle and while potable was a disappointment. Especially for my last of many a bottle of Markelbach, opened because of Alfred Merkelbach's recent passing.

Very light - some mint, honeysuckle, a touch of lime. Very delicate on the palate with lime, tangerine, some honeysuckle and some herbs. Very pretty and with air drinking well now. Best on the finish which is long and perfumed and racy. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16.5/20.

in Norton. Color pretty young. Secondary fragrance of apples and a little lemon. Subtle strawberry note joins the palate. Excellent balance. Not very sweet but enough weight to accompany strawberry shortcake. A wine of refinement rather than drama. I'll drink my remaining one over the next couple of years.

Serious wine. Such pristine aromas, golden hue, delicate but deep. Served with Taiwanese home cooking and that worked so well. A very thoughtful Riesling. A shape shifter as it danced between a hint of fruit, a hit of minerality, a depth of earth/rocks, etc. A delight.
