This wine is very enjoyable if you approach it as a Pinot Noir and not a Zin. I understand that makes no sense but you'll have to trust me. It's drinking very well right now but with the cherry notes and elegance it is not a heavy typical Turley. Don't be disappointed that it's not a big Turley Zin, appreciate the fact that Turley made a killer Pinot using Zin grapes

As others have said, not a typical Turley. Definitely some herbaceousness/green notes, nice nose, we don't see this getting better from here so we'll drink our last bottle within the year. Drinks a lot like a Pinot Noir, which is fine when you're expecting Pinot but maybe not so much when you want a Zin.

This is not your typical Turley…drinks with a lot more elegance and nuance compared to the bold, opulence I have come to expect.
Black cherry, cedar, pencil shavings, cinnamon, dried flowers/potpourri, slight herbaceous quality. Palate is bright, good acidity and gossamer tannins. The alcohol is there, but I served this around cellar temp and quickly forgot this was a high octane Zinfandel.
I almost always enjoy Turley and there’s definitely a place in my cellar for some flashy, fruity, hedonistic bottles. But this was an unexpected surprise. Should hold well for at least another 3-4 years.

I liked the lithe, smoke, zinberry. Lighter red, some pepper and a moderate length finish.

Love most Turley's but not this. All the typical Turley traits until the finish - tart even a touch of a bitter aftertaste. Almost green herbal notes.
