  • As one of the greatest supports once said, "this tastes like purple"

    Visually, it's super purple.

Nose: I can't remember 5oo clearly, mix of cork/leather with floral sweetness.

Taste: big fruit at. First, then some sweetness, then with a deep raisin savory finish, which disappears as the wine opens (or when you get more drunk). Mild oak spice. Overall high intensity with V shaped balance.

Would recommend to friends who despise dry reds but still enjoy some complexity. Smooth to drink. Made me crave Chinese food.

For me, pass. I can see the appeal doe. 90.

  • Tasted over two days.

Inky purple in color. Bouquet of purple and black berries, peppers, gravel, charred earth, and new oak.

The wine tastes like it smells. Somewhat over extracted, robust, and powerfully structured. Still, it conveys very good sense of place. Likely to always be overdone, yet several years in bottle will soften the edges. It should be in a good place by 2030. Improvement seems possible.

  • Nose: Cassis with a nice stemmy greenness. Palate: Leathery and prickly mouthfeel from a combination of the tannins, oak and 14.5% ABV; barrel spice ad bitter licorice; dark blackberry and slate are present in the background. Unresolved tannins; less acid than I would expect from a Bordeaux (although I don't have a lot of experience with Pessac-Léognan). Tastes like a young and tannic well-made Napa cab to me.

  • Round, fruity, soft and fresh with a spicy, tobacco laden, core of rich, chewy, red fruits and espresso from start to finish. Give this a few years in the cellar to develop more nuance and soften and it should be an even better wine.
