Not sure if it was really defective or had been damaged, some cork leakage. Strong sediment thrown but fill level was still lower neck. Dark red with brick shading and opaque. Good generic dark red fruit aromas with a bit of Brett or some other funk lying under the surface. Decent fruit flavors but muted again. Medium body and smooth.

Quality cocoa aromas which quickly get subsumed in alcohol. Straight up dark fruits with a menthol side-note. Little real finish of note. There is a very pleasant quality to this wine, but little complexity. Enjoyable for laid-back sipping with a couple of quick steaks, but perhaps too much alcohol for any defense during an après-dinner game of "dodge-beanbag" with Alec.

We loved this blend. Pam Starr can flat out make wine and this bottle is a great example of that. A lot of mineral and a perfect blend. Thanks Pam.
