California Thunder- Serious Cabernet and Pinot Noir Tasting, Episode #827, 3/4/2010, (See more on Wine Library TV...) 95+ points

(Crocker & Starr Stone Place Cabernet Sauvignon) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very dark and very tight; a little stinky earth tones which I like; some blueberries as well; PALATE-the first thing that pops is my head is the Shafer Hillside Select (HSS) Cabernet (arguably one of the best Cabs in the world); this reminds me quite a bit of the HSS because it's so ridiculously focused as the fruit goes right down the middle; this flavoring is quite intense -- charcoal; smoky BBQ; dark fruits (blueberries and blackberries); there's a huge, epic flavor of deliciousness exploding in the palate; mid-palate transition is spotless and clean (like a perfect landing); REALLY, REALLY well made; really rich and balanced, but explosive at the same time; beautiful, bright fresh fruit; very focused; not overdone; the winemaker let it do it's thing; the quality of the fruit is EXCEPTIONAL; this is one of the better Cabs I've had in a very long time; I would almost compare this to Pichon Lalonde 2.0 as it's Bordeaux-like in it's sensibility, but has more of that California sun shine freshness; this wine is SPECTACULAR; one of the more powerful and rich Cabs I've had in a long time; can easily age for 10-15 years; RP-94; GV-95+
