Well it's certainly not French tannat. Almost more like a syrah with dark fruit and wet leather. But maybe a bit too high in acid and tannins way down. But hey, in my neck of the woods this was an $11 wine. So high fruit, high acid, low tannins, while out of balance, may actually be the target market. For me a chance to try out something from off the beaten path. Not a bad effort all told.

Not bad. Lighter and fresher than I was expecting. Also less tannic. A bit of residual sugar. Very ripe - mostly red fruit with sour cherry, some blackberry and floral (violet) notes. High acid, to counter the sugar. Med-full bodied, but still a bit thin... There's a lot of good stuff, but not quite in balance.
