Fruit predominates on the nose with mixed red and black berry. There are also secondary notes of dried prune and raisin, as well as light smoke. On the palate, there is noticeable acid and late sweet notes. Body and tannins were medium. Overall, it need both age and decanting. Right now, it's much better with food than sipped alone.

Walla Walla Syrah Festival: Wine Panel Presentation (Marcus Whitman Hotel): Wine 3 at the Tasting Panel of Walla Walla Syrah Festival Weekend. This was my wine of the five up front but no one was next to me and was able to revisit all these wines later. The most fruit forward of the five. Dark purple. Cherry, blueberries and plum along with floral, earth and coffee beans. Medium plus finish and very good.

Walla Walla Syrah Festival Grand Tasting (Valdemar Cellars Walla Walla): 2nd time tasting this in a few days. Dark fruits, floral, earth, coffee beans, smoke and minerals. Very nice and I like this a lot better than their Red Moutain Syrah.

Tasted after a few hours of air. Dark purple. Round blue fruits. Good crunch. Some nice violet floral notes. Great balance
