My third time having this and while it an above average champagne, it below most Krugs I have had. There is something disjointed in the palate and finish. Not my favorite and no need to purchase again. Reminds me of the 170, same deal.

era 2004-2011. We therefore have wines mainly from the 90s.
Very powerful nose of rancio. The aroma is finely dosed, with assertive vinosity on red fruits and nuts.
Creamy and dense mouthfeel, first time I have had such a powerful GC. The wine is perfectly structured in such a way that the vinosity and power gradually fade in the mid-palate to give way to a superb minerality, all layered, with successively chalk, wet stone and saline flavors. Perfectly balanced, with a magnificent freshness which gives life to this ample and complex juice. Finale which synthesizes the wine, between powerful, assertive vinosity and vibrant length on mineral salts.
Great champagne where everything is there: texture, power, finesse, complexity, longevity…

After more than 10 years of maturing in bottle, this particular bottle of Krug NV (edition 4 according to an champagne expert friend) has evolved so much and exhibited high level of complexed flavors such as honey and caramel, with mellowed down fine bubbles. The slight oxidation complemented with toasted flavour. Really outstanding and rewarding for the years of wait!

Lots of life in this bottle, but dominated by citrus in a way that tamped down the brioche and saline elements of the wine. Fresh and good with oysters and funky cheese

(NV Krug Champagne Grande Cuvée Brut) A Chardonnay-based blend of as many as 10 different vintages, primarily from grand cru vineyards. Krug’s tête de cuvée, like the wines of Bollinger, is first barrel-fermented in neutral oak. Golden yellow in color, it has fresh, bold aromas of Bosc pear, Macintosh apples, nutmeg, and lemon meringue. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich with caramel, earth, and baking spices. The finish is long. The Shifting Landscape of Champagne
(NV Krug) New label which is kind of boring and even ugly. Old label was really classy. Don't know what they were thinking. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The wine was gorgeous. Just gets better every time I have it. Easily one of the most conisistent wineries in the world. Massive concentration allied with a seamlessness and utterly mindlowing complexity.

Mellow and rounded taste, very frothy when poured - no hint of sharpness
