Inky black, nearly opaque. Rich, full bodied fruit. Candied plum and boysenberries. An anise and funky smoke note on the finish. Heavy sediment at the end of the bottle. Big and burly, this was a perfect wine for sipping on a cool blustery night.

A smoother showing than my other bottle, especially on the second day. Nose of perfumed wood fire, powerful palate in which the roundness of the Grenache and Mourvedre integrated better with the sharp edges of the Syrah on day 2. It's a high-quality effort.

Unusual blend of GSM plus Petit Verdot. I had this open over four days and it didn't really change much. Bright, electric wine, hard-hitting on the alcohol and tannins, more like a gripping cocktail than a seductive wine. It's possible it's in a confused phase right now or maybe this is just the way it is. The fruit is delicious, just very rough-edged.

Simple and attractive nose of raspberry liqueur and marshmallow roasting on campfire. More raspberry, Rolo candy, marshmallow, fresh thyme, black cherry, and pipe tobacco and on the palate. Texture is silky until fine tannins show up on the very end of the finish. Few years+ of peak drinking.

Big bold mature Rhone blend. Dark berrys, leather, tar, pharmacy and coffee. Drink now and enjoy. Decant before, there is huge settlement.
