Super dark purple, almost black. Dark ruby rim. Nose: fresh blackberry juice. Green stick. Some dried flower petals. Very muted and austere attack of dried roses and black cherry juice. Mid-palate: much minerality. Finish: alcohol, tobacco leaf, and black cherry skins. Medium body. Medium length.

Still holding up very well after 9 years. Modest nose, plenty of fruit on the palate, soft tannins. Was delicious with aged pecorino cheese and bruschetta appetizers, followed by pizza.

For a 9 year old bottle, I was surprised how fresh this wine was. Color was a nice ruby red with almost no sign of browning. Nose was light but fruity and earthy. Body was fine and flavor was of very nice dark fruit. Perhaps it could have held another year or so, but it may be at its peak now.

Drinking and showing so youthfully! dark purple crimson core, still maintaining its bright purple pink hued rim. Immense nose of stewed plum, earthy rock, and black raspberry coulis/sauce. Clean, bright, uplifting and inviting. Nice from the start, but Improving and evolving with time in the glass. It is fresh to drink with medium plus acidity. The alcohol is moderate, at 13.5% but seems lower. Balanced fruit/acid/alcohol. medium tannins still present. This wine has been improving for 2 years since I've followed it and should continue to soften and integrate nicely for years to come. I'm buying all I can of this vintage for $8.99 a bottle. Great juice. Fantastic wine bringing the old world into the new!
