So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: Spicy and Smoky on the nose, slight bitterness on the palate. Sweet and big fruit underneath, and bigger than the Oregon pinot before it, but not as good or balanced. Probably past it’s peak, with some stewed fruit on the palate. The smokiness was too much for me on the nose.

Drank over three days. Right out of the bottle the wine was a little tight and out of balance. But within an hour, some of this smoothed out. Dark fruit, spice with and acid backbone and fairly smooth but not tannins and a medium finish. It definitely improved on day 2 and held steady on 3. Great QPR. But although a very solid offering, it just didn’t reach that next level or cause one to stop and take notice. I would think that this would be something to look for on restaurant wine lists as a solid value.

Just like ealier bottles... PNP with first taste carrying a slight carbonation fizz... but just letting the bottle sit, this blows off rather fast and then the subtle, earthiness and muted fruit comes out. Old worls style with a nice finiash and touch of acidity. If your looking for bright raspberries and strawberries - skip this wine, that not here. If your looking for more muted, macerated fruits... this is really quite good, and a very good QPR at PA price of $18.

This is the third vintage of this wine we have openind. It, like the others, requires a bit of air to smooth out. It is more old world, more Burgundian in style than the bright, fruit forward Pinots of the Somoma Coast. Dark, but bright ruby red/purple. Somewhat subtle nose of red fruit and spice. Cherries and red fruit on the palate, but with an earthy smokiness, and a spicy acidic backbone. Nice, medium/long finish. This vintage does not disappoint.

Pop and pour at a restaurant. Red fruit with smoke and spice. Some bottle variation but two of three bottles very tart. 87-89
