Brick red mature Margaux. Silky smooth and well rounded. Medium body with cigar notes, red cherries and sweet dark plum. It has past its peak but still offers a long round fruity finish with some sweetness and elegance. Not very powerfull but the layers of flavor are very good.

This fully mature Margaux had a brick red color. After a very difficult decorking, the wine was strained and decanted for 90 minutes. It's nose was earthy, with some dark cherries and other fruit. It tasted of plums, cherries, and blackberries. There was a little tobacco and cedar also tasted. The wine was medium bodied, and complex. The finish was moderate with well integrated, silky smooth tannins.
This bottle was consumed along with a very bold and masculine 2007 Darioush Cabernet and a relatively tame 2004 Cornas.

Some elegance and nice fruit but not a very potent wine at this point. A bit of a disappointment.

Great nose of complex spice. On the palate more spice, fruit, earth and bitterness. Medium bodied. Short finish. Still some noticeable tannin.

Lacking any sort of fruit. Certainly appears well past prime.
