This is a much fuller-bodied Dolcetto than most we get from Italy. We had it with grilled sausage, kale, and broccoli and it stood up to the food well. We love Acorn and this is another fine example of their attentive winemaking. This has age left on it. At least two more years, maybe more.

Super expressive nose: dark berries and citrus with a slightly herbaceous and floral note. The palate carries most of the same, all delivered with a long finish with nicely balanced acidity and tannins; and of course that classic Acorn rusticity is evident. This 2013 is very well structured and can probably sit for a couple more years. No need to rush this lovely wine!

Much more expressive than the last bottle, it only needed a few minutes in the glass to open up. The RICH S note below mine is perfect. It is a bright wine with a more medium mouthfeel and good acidity. Notes of cherry, blueberry, pepper, and very subtle oak. Paired with german sausages and hard cheeses. We loved it.

A sturdy expression of Dolcetto from the reliably excellent producers at Acorn in Sonoma county.

Flawed nose of damp cardboard. Shame.
