Ruby with a dark magenta tint. Soft nose with ripe berries, cola, pine & mushroom. Velvety palate - strawberries & cream, smoke, pomegranate arils. Will be nice in a few years.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. All red fruit with some toasty notes. Lots of great material here, but not quite harmonious for me today. Slightly brooding and backward, so I wish there was a little more weight in the middle and less forward fleshiness, but then oddly backward at the end. 90 points for me, but there could be upside as everything comes together with bottle age.

La Paulée de SF Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): 20% new oak on this wine. The nose here is bigger and more brooding than the village with some black fruit and spice elements. The palate has good structure with creamy red cherry. Long finish. 92-93+

The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Deep color, rich nose with some wood. Tremendous depth of dark red fruit, very tannic. Really excellent but like a sledgehammer right after tasting the ethereal Bouley wines.
